I've been wanting to go here for awhile. Every time big poppa and I go to Dallas, I tell him that I want to go to the Ft. Worth Modern Art Museum. But I guess after the four hour drive to Dallas, and knowing that we'll have to drive four hours back to Houston, we just forfeit the idea of driving the 30-40 minutes to Ft. Worth. Bah! We lazy like crazy. I've got restless leg syndrome. I can't stand car rides. My legs. Get restless. In the end I'm glad I went cos I love these types of museums but at the same time, it kinda sucked cos several of the pieces that I really wanted to see were on loan to other museums. SOCKS MAN! As for the place itself, just completely GORGEOUS! It is simply beautifully designed. I could go there all the time and just wander around or sit by the reflection pool. It's just all very tranquil. My least favo exhibits would have to be those ridic short films or whatevs. Seriously. Drabtastic. As for the gift shop, I could spend all day in there too.

Art: Photo Bouquet

This is my greatest creative achievement yet! This project is the one thing that I can say is 100% all thought up by me, myself and I. Two years ago, I made birthday picture bouquets for some birthday folks (one whom was mos def not worthy of my time nor talent). I think they turned out pretty good but I've been wanting to make another one but with a few improvements. On the last cruise I went on, I ended taking a crap load of fotos so it was a great opportunity for me to give it another go. And the results made me super happy and excited! I gifted it to my friend and she and her bf loved it!

The longest and hardest part is choosing the fotos and printing them out so that they're of the right size. The last time, I had all sorts of flowers going on so this time I wanted to keep it relatively simple. I kept the daisy, tulip and daffodil like flowers and added calla lilies. You have to draw out your flowers and trace the finished product onto a sheet transparency film. Then it simply cut out petals or what not and use that as a stencil for your photo bouquet. It's cake!

Other improvements is instead of using pipe cleaners as stems, I chose to use incense so that it makes the flower sturdier and aromatic. I used colored rocks last time as filling but they were hard to work with. But while walking around Hobby Lobby, I found these styrofoam balls which were perfect! I loved the color and they also worked really well in separating the flowers so that they didn't group together. Splenda! I also went the extra mile and had pictures on both sides of the flowers. I left them blank on the backside for the previous bouquets and it was such an eye-sore!
