Thingits: Dunny Series 5

Unbeknownst to me, Series 5 of the Dunny's that I collect made it's debut at the beginning of the month. Right before a series comes out, stores who sell these things can choose to hold trading parties where fans of this stuff go and buy the new Dunny's and then they can trade off the ones that they have duplicates of. I know. How old am I again? The bf and I are very immature for our age. But I should really just speak for myself. Anyhow. I'm so sad because I missed it! Those parties look so fun! I'm not a huge collector but I like wasting money and buying a few here and there. It's the thrill of not knowing what you're gonna get, and then the disappointment after when you realize you already got that one. Boo! But yeah. These trading parties were something I was looking forward to. It's just so hard to keep up with these things. Only one trading party is held per series, and all stores must participate on the same day. Maybe next time. The bf got me 4 of them and they all ended up being different. Lucky. And one even turned out to be a mystery Dunny. Super lucky! This series mos def gots some more interesting artwork.

2. Amanda Visell is a cartoonist I believe and she created the elephant looking dunny with her version of the drama and comedy faces on the ears.
3. I call this one my Fanny Pak dunny because of the lightning bolts. The artist is Reach.
4. The last dunny is designed by Jellymon, a Chinese artist. You can tell the Chinese influence by the yuen signs on the body and the accessory that it came with is a Chinese coin. Coolness!

Birthday: Deebo

The bf has a friend who he grew up with. I have a friend who I grew up with. And now they're dating each other. So double dating is natural and fun. The bf's friend is the God of workout and has these super swoll arms and legs so everyone calls him Deebo. You know. Big scary dude in that movie Friday. But this Deebo is not scary but nice. We celebrated Deebo's birthday the week after the whole stupid Ike-capades. His girlfriend bought this really yummy tirimisu cake from Jungle Cafe. I usually don't like their cakes but the tirimisu is just the way I like it. Really, really creamy! I love tirimisu! I think it may just be my favorite type of cake.

Musik Mundi: T.I.

Featuring the super hawt and awesome Miss Rihanna. I swear! Everything that home girl touches turns to PLATINUM. When she came out with her first hit, I thought she and her song were annoying. But I have loved every other song thereafter. Well, maybe except the collaborative effort between her and Marroon 5. Whackness monster! But what do you expect when you work with such a sucky sucky band. She's forgiven for that. I never watch the VMA's. Mainly because I've never really had access to cable television. But this year I did! And I caught the ending right when T.I. performed his song Live Your Life with Rihanna. She just exudes coolness out of every orifice of her being. Other than Angelina Jolie, I think Rihanna is the coolest celebrity right now. Unlike others who try too darn hard such as Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera (gag!) and Madonna. Madonna has had her time. It's time to stop pushing out less than mediocre music. As for the VMA performance, it was hawtness! T.I. is frackin' CUTE! I wonder if Chris Brown was jealous? Hah! It's okay. He knows he's the better dancer. The music was "borrowed" from one of my classic favorites. This Romanian band called O-Zone came out with this cult dance number called Dragostei Din Tei. The name isn't recognizable but the song is. Remember that viral Numa Numa youtube video? Hilarious!

The view I had from the passenger seat of the bf's car while on my driveway. I'm tired of all this crap my mom plants all around the house. Many unwanted creatures and reptiles and amphibians and INSECTS and ARTHROPODS have made their permanent home in this aggravation causing massive amount of foliage ... that my mom built.

Event: Hurricane Ike

The Pappas BBQ was one of the first places to open up and it got packed quick! The bf and I decided to wait to go eat out at restaurants just in case they decided to use meat that may have been unfortunately stored at the wrong temperature due to the outages.

I love trying new restaurants. That's the adventurous part of me. But then I get back to my safe roots by ordering just about the same stuff I'll normally order at every other restaurant. What can I say. I've got me some shy taste buds. My co-worker neighbor buddy was telling me about how she recently moved and now lives near one of her fave breakfast places, The Buffalo Grille. She was shocked when I told her that I had never even heard of it before. She said their breakfast stuff was yums. I didn't think about this Buffalo place again until I was flipping through this take-out taxi menu and came across a place that offered chicken and dumplings. And it turned out to be the same place that my co-worker neighbor buddy spoke of. The bf is just CAH-RAZY about chicken and dumplings. Back when he was in Dallas, he and his peeps would go to this Jew place that was ran by Asians, and they would all order chicken and dumplings. It's all he ever talks about. It was always the Jew place or First Chinese. I don't even know the real name of the Jew place. Anyhoo. So of course, he wanted to try it out and we went to the Buffalo Speedway location. Turns out they were closed for a private party. Boo! But by then, the bf was super really in the mood for some chicken and dumplings. So he decided that he must have it and we set off to the S. Voss location. Believe me, they are not in close proximity to one another. Since I don't do the driving, it doesn't matter where we go. Verdict on the C&D? Negatory. Not good. My grilled chicken sandwich that I ordered. Not good. The fries on the other hand were pretty good. I guess I made the mistake of not heeding the recommendation from the co-worker neighbor buddy to try the brekky stuff. Oy!
