I'm finally done with all the NYC posts! MAN what a trip that was. If there were ever an award for being a super tourist, I would accept it with great honor. I had some residual fotos sitting around and I'd rather post them than archive it away into the handy 500GB external for eternity. I can't wait to go back so I can do all the things that I wasn't able to accomplish the first time around. And of course, repeat the ones that left a resounding mark. Mad For Chicken!

It's great having girlfriends that the bf gets along with. To celebrate his birthday, Mochi and Chacco wanted to take him out to eat, which means that I get to go eat too! Haha. Mochi has known big poppa a little longer than I have and they've always been pretty good friends. We chose Del Frisco's cos a couple of our friends had been talking about the awesome filet mignon that they had there. Mochi and big poppa both decided on steaks (cooked just right), Chacco had the Chilean sea bass which was their special, and I settled for a salad and a bunch of sides. We also had some appetizers, crab cakes and tuna tartare. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate mousse, creme brulee and a chocolate lava cake. Everything was good but not exceptionally great. The creme brulee at Fleming's is still the best. And no matter what people say, they're mos def not the same everywhere you go. My only beef with this place (pun intended!) is how dark it is inside. You could barely read the darn menu! Why do so many steak places do that? Is it because they don't want you to see that they have cooked your steak a nice medium-well when you asked for medium-rare? I dunno. The only nice thing about keeping the restaurant so dark is that you can really appreciate the floor to ceiling windows, and the view of Westheimer that it has to offer.
