My lovely babies. They all are so bad and so sweet at the same time. Tino and Alfie are the cuddle bugs while neo and stewie like sleeping by themselves. It's literally a zoo at my house these days. Too much stuff. Not enough time to do the daily chores. And when i do have time, i just find myself sitting motionless while watching criminal minds. I seriously can not get enough of that show! I watched this one episode for the third or fourth time and still found myself tearing up just a little bit. My laptop at home is on the fritz. I've been allocating some time each night to begin the transfer of all things valuable into my (un)trusty little external hard drive. I hope i don't lose any FOTOS. If that happens, prepare for a great depression.

Paw Pals: Cat Fight

Sometimes i really hate my life. It's been more than a year that i've had stewie and alfeo. Why is it now alfeo and not alfie? While we were on the big trip, my mom would e-mail us updates on all the furry friends. I can't remember if she spelled stewie's name right but for some reason, she would spell alfie alfeo. So now i call him either alfie or alfeo. And she calls stewie chipadee. I don't know. Ef-oh-be mom. So after more than a year of cohabitation, these two cats still do not get along. Alfie chases stewie and then attacks her and she pees everywhere cos she's so small and tiny. And even when i go to pick her up and she sees him, she starts growling and shaking and hissing. Ugh. And i feel bad cos i don't want her stressing out. So for one plus year now, we have been going the extra mile in keeping them separated at all times. Alfie gets locked up in a room all day while we're at work. Then whoever gets home first locks stewie up in my room (where she's the most content at staying anyway) and alfeo gets let out to roam around. Right when i'm about to sleep, i let stewie out and alfie sleeps with me. Sometime in the middle of the night, either stewie will start scratching at the door or alfie will start meowing. Oh my gawd that boy meows all the dang TIME! So i'll get up to switch them. It's a lot of work. And we complain about it all the time but none of us has the heart to let them fight it out. I don't want my little girl stewie to get hurt! They're both so kind and loving individually that i wish they would just hurry and show signs that they're ready for that next step! Argh. I would love to finally have a good night's sleep without any of those dogs or cats waking me up with the annoying sounds they make. And fracking big poppa is a pro at pretending like he's dead asleep so that i'm the one that's having to get up. Can you guess who's the one that has night shift come baby time? Hopefully my ef-oh-be mom.

Paw Pals: Where's Neo?

I've been quite the busy bee during the days and a couch potato at night. Which means that I have a gazillion fotos that still need to be sorted through. Which means since i have not uploaded any fotos into my photobucket, i have nothing to post. What i do have are some fotos of my furry friends. I'm at a point where i'm not sure if i already posted them or not. And my poor senior citizen neo aren't in any of them. Shame on me! To prove that i do love him however, on our two mile walk at the park, big poppa and i took turns carrying his fifty pound arse cos it looked like he was struggling to finish. That boy is HEAVY! I'm sure people were giving us funny looks or even laughing at us. I love you neo! Can you tell the difference between stewie and alfie?

Paw Pals: Vizsla

For the longest time, my co-worker really wanted a dog but there were circumstances that prevented her from getting one. Then one day she said eff-it and got the dog she's always wanted. A VIZSLA. I had no idea what kind of dog that was but now, I pretty much see them everywhere and have to stop myself from going up to people and asking if their dog is a vizsla. Pronounced vee-shla. I even saw a car with a bumper sticker that said something about having a vizsla. Her dog miles is now a big boy but when he was still a puppy, i lent her a few dogs things to help her start off. He was so cute and all over the place! I actually lobbied really hard for her to name him griffin but no success. So now i call him miles griffin.

Paw Pals: Tiger Farms

This post will be an uncomfortable one. No, I didn't go out and get me a tiger puppy but i would if they didn't grow up to want to kill me. I was over at miss antsymama's house last week and as con k.so was flipping through the channels, he asked if i knew who the man version of lisa ling was. I didn't. Well, it's Adam Yamaguchi. The reasoning isn't as important as what i saw playing right in front of me. Yamaguchi has this documentary out on tiger farms. To watch the graphic trailer click here. The wild tiger is among the world’s most endangered species, pushed to the brink of extinction in large part by poachers who are killing the animals for profit. The illicit tiger parts trade is worth billions of dollars and nowhere is it more active than in China, the world’s leading consumer of illegal wildlife. Nearly two decades ago, the Chinese government instituted a series of conservation efforts ostensibly aimed at saving the tiger from what appeared to be its imminent demise, but correspondent Adam Yamaguchi goes undercover and exposes flagrant and widespread violation of China’s tiger trade laws. He investigates China’s lucrative black market for tigers and tiger parts, including the business of Asian zoos and breeding centers. In this dispatch from the field, he tapes his own raw reaction to seeing first-hand a massive tiger farm in China where over 1,500 animals are being held — likely until they die, when their parts are far more valuable.

The small part that i watched showed yamaguchi in a poor city of china where dogs are blatantly raised, butchered and sold for it's meat. It was the most heart wrenching thing i've ever seen. These poor dogs as well as puppies are in small cages, just feet away from their brother or sister who has already suffered what i'm sure was a painful death. Their skinned bodies hang upside down ready to be sold. You can see it in their eyes. The fear and confusion. Anyone who has a dog knows how smart they are. I can only assume that they knew what their fate would ultimately be. As a person who eats meat, it's hypocritical of me to judge others and impose on them what i think they should or should not eat. But whether i am a meat eater or not, there are just some species that shouldn't be eaten. And these are the ones that have proven to be smarter than some human beings. I don't blame the poor people who are doing this to dogs, i blame the chinese government. These people are desperately poor and have little else to rely on for food. The chinese government is so proud of all the money they have yet they do so little for their own people. If you can't help them, then they definitely won't be helping you. It takes the saying 'the poor get poorer and the rich gets richer' to a whole other level. As for the doc, I wanted to keep watching but little pretzel was also in the room and was starting to ask questions about what was going on in the doc so we had to change the channel. Now, even though i want to watch it, i can't bring myself to. So much horrible stuff! I hope i can work up the guts to get through it.

It almost feels wrong to put fotos of my buddies on this same post but their friendly faces only drives home my point.
