Trippin': Keystone - Tubing

You have a weekend, you seize it and go somewhere. Anywhere. Mochi had a snowboard trip planned and I decided to round up some folks to tag along with her. I also brought my sisters since they were disappointed that our Thanksgiving road trip to Denver never came to be. And OMGaudy they would not stop bugging my mom about asking me to plan another trip. So even though I would not be snowboarding myself, I really wanted my sisters to get the chance to do so. The things I do for them. Ai-yah. I already know I'll mos def spoil my kids with all the experiences the world has to offer. I won't be spoiling them with material junk that's for sure. The last thing we did on our trip was go tubing. For a ridiculous $27 per person for only ONE hour, you get to go tubing all you want. It sux that it's so expensive but once you're whizzing down on the tube ... it's so much fun that you convince yourself that it's almost worth it. Since they let you hold onto other people's tubes, we got to ride down together and listen to each other scream our heads off. Not only that, the workers would spin us so that it felt like we were going faster than we really were. I remember big poppa standing up and almost tipping over cos he was so dizzy. For people who have never done this before, I say DO IT! And if you're one of the few who absolutely refuse to give snowboarding or skiing a shot, then this is something to do while waiting around for the boarders and skiiers. I think all of us had a really good time. The only crappy thing is the magic carpet that takes forever to bring you back up to the top.

Musik Mundi: William Joseph

Miss LP went to this symphony thing a couple of weeks ago and raved to me about how wonderful the music was. One of the special guests that performed that evening was William Joseph. I think she was kinda sorta surprised when I told her that I actually had one of his CD's! William Joseph is a magnefico pianist who writes some of his own music. The reason why I knew of him was cos he did this really awesome instrumental cover of Muse's, Butterflies and Hurricanes. Such a great song and William Joseph made it sound even better. He has toured and opened for Josh Groban (love!) and David Foster even signed him under his own record label. This all makes me want to go brush up on my piano skills, how elementary it may be. Unfortunately, I was too lazy to convert Butterflies and Hurricanes into mp3 format so you don't get to hear that song, but here are a few others from his first album that are velly gut!

Holiday: Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good day of anything that you want. So I'm actually back-posting this entry. I'm two days late on it. Yes. Christmas came and went. But it wasn't until big poppa and I were mingling at a party over the weekend that I realized that not only had Christmas day passed, but along with it was our anniversary! Oy! We're not the type to really celebrate that sorta thing but a nice little happy however many years is a nice way to start the day. And we both forgot! Someone asked us how long we had been dating and bam. Realization hit. OMGaudy. Big poppa and I have officially been dating five whole years now. It's been the best five years with the greatest and sweetest guy ever. We have such a healthy and wholesome relationship that I honestly don't want anything to change for fear that my relationship feng-shui could potentially be thrown off. I always try my best to be a good gf and I'm sure I still have a ways to go. Here's to another awesome five years with big poppa. Cheerio!

Trippin': New York City - Serendipity 3

Another big first time NYC staple is going to Serendipity for some of that frozen hot chocolate. I can't remember what it tasted like but it was different and it was GOOD. The food however was not so good. The wait can be a bit atrocious at times so reservations are a must. They say that you can only make reservations if you plan on ordering food and not just dessert, but Mochi said that once they seat you, no one really checks on that. It didn't really matter though cos someone always orders food wherever we go. That someone is usually me. Haha. A few people ordered the chicken noodle soup. It was okay. I think I ordered some wings for the whole table to share and they were blah. They didn't have ranch! Decor wise, there's a lot going on. There's all these small hallways and twists and turns. It's like a big maze. Luckily, we sat about 100 feet from the exit door. Mos def go for the frozen hot chocolate! It's not worth it for the wait though.

Trippin': New York City - The Plaza Hotel

The Plaza Hotel is one of the fanciest hotels in NYC. And I took the crappiest fotos of the fanciest hotel in NYC. Argh. We were in the area and decided to pop in to check out the lobby area with the ornate ceilings. Plus, we had some people who needed to take a bathroom break. The people who work there really don't bother you so that was pretty cool. They have a lot of really expensive things in display cases scattered all around. One in particular was a bottle of Louis XIII. I heard it was like $150 a shot. Yowza!
