I've lived in Houston my entire life yet there are many things that I still have yet to see or hear about. Fortunately, I was able to stumble upon this little gem just minutes from downtown. David Adicke specializes in creating and sculpting ginormous statues. He's the one behind that huge statue that you can not miss while driving from Houston to Dallas and vice versa; you know, the one of Sam something or other. Hah! His studio is the home to these monstrous heads of our presidents. He also has this awesome art deco style replica of the Beatles that are at least 10X my size. Too bad the gates were closed or I could have gotten a better shot. Trust me, I tried to get in.

Placenter: The Drag

"The Drag" is basically a section of Guadelupe St in downtown Austin. It's right where UT is so there are many stores and shops that are catered to their interests. There were a handful of some pretty cool murals and artwork for my viewing pleasure. While hanging around the area, I ran into the greediest and grumpiest bums EVAR! They had a super cute dog staying with them unhappily and wouldn't allow me to take a picture of the doggy unless I gave them money. I said forget that and just simply took photos of the mural behind them. They don't own that!

Holiday: New Year's Day 2008

Some friends and I decided to celebrate the new year in Austin. Had some crazy fun and laughter up and down 4th street, which has unanimously been decided as the cheapest new year's so far. Ended the evening with a stop at Whataburger, where I buzzingly stole the number given to us because it's my favorite number EVAR! The next day was spent trolling around town. More to come!
