From Kerry Park, the TAR 3 teams raced to the International Fountain for their next clue. Located at the Seattle Center, the spherical sculpture shoots out water from its many spouts in programmed fashion to music from around the world. It's a pretty impressive sight and I would have loved to go play in the water if not for the super cold weather and the occurence of the runny nose post 'jump for joy' episode. I don't know if it was the water spraying everywhere but I distinctly remember the bf and I really having to go pee after seeing the fountain.
OK, so I'm like this super reality television junky. It could be stated definitively that I am mos def addicted to The Amazing Race. I schedule my life around when the show will be on. So after I booked my trip to Seattle, the first thing I did was look up all the places that TAR ever stopped at and penciled it into my itinerary. People generally do not like to travel with me because I meticulously plan my trips with the utmost precision. I want to squeeze in as much as I can because I like to make the most of my trips. I don't believe in stopping at two birds when I can kill 100 of them with one stone. Ew. That sounds gross doesn't it?!? But you get the big picture right? TAR ended Season 3 in Seattle. From the moment the teams landed at Sea-Tac Int'l Airport, they were instructed to go to Kerry Park where they would find their next clue. I sound just like Phil! Kerry Park is a very small blink and you'll miss it park. If you want to have a clear and unobstructed view of the Seattle skyline, this is mos def the place to do it!
If someone were to ask me what my favorite song of all time would be, without a doubt I would answer with Worn Me Down. Not only is it a great song to listen to, it also has a bit of significance for me. The first time that I really hung out with the bf was when we had lunch together with a mutual friend of ours. We had known each other for a good five or so years already but were mere aquaintances. During our little lunch tete a tete (maybe more like trois tete a trois tete?), I mentioned that I had been fancying this really awesome song and I went on and on about how much I wanted someone to download it for me. That's right. I'm pro-pirate! ARRGGH! A few days later, I got a call from my future bf. It was odd because he never ever called me ever before. He told me had been trying to search all over the internet for that song I wanted but he couldn't remember the name of the artist. He searched for silly things like 'up and coming Japanese singers' and the like. I was so incredibly smitten! So I told him her name: Rachael Yamagata. A month later, we were officially dating. Oh but there's more! A week into our official dating period. He surprised me by showing up to my house unannounced. What a creep! Kidding. He tried to surprise me but you can't surprise someone who has two rambunctious canine friends who are on a constant look-out. But of course I was still pleasantly surprised because he bought me Miss Yamagata's album: Happenstance.
Rachael Yamagata is part Japanese, Italian and German and plays the piano. I'm really big on supporting the Asian artists. She's got this super awesome low husky voice. She has had her songs on The O.C., ER, Nip/Tuck, One Tree Hill and more! In her MySpace profile picture, she has the kind of hairstyle that I WANT! Now! Obviously, my fave is Worn Me Down. The bf's fave is Reason Why and I even included my little sister's fave which is Be Be Your Love. Enjoy!

Yellow Magazine celebrated their 3rd Anniversary this Saturday at the Galleria. I always try to make it out to their monthly issue release parties. Where else can you indulge in free food and drink once a month! Complimentary refreshments/drinks were provided by Courvoisier, Level I Vodka and Tiger Beer. There were also hor d'oeuvres from Gravitas circulating around. I've heard about that restaurant before and mos def will try to make time to pop by there for a visit one day. Models from Page Parkes entertained the crowd with a fashion show featuring Spring 2008 collections from Neiman Marcus.
It was a red carpet affair!
There was this super GORGEOUS cake from La Victoria Bakery and it tasted sooo good. I wasn't able to locate a website but there are many reviews out there and most give positive comments. Each layer had a different flavor and the bf was fortunate enough to score a chocolate piece. Yums! It was so rich and the cream was smooth and flavorful.
The event was so fabulous that even the guys were sporting designer handbags.
