Holiday: Halloween 2011

This year for halloween, we decided to hit up the montrose crawl thing. Which isn't really crawl like. I wish maybe they would just close down the street and have more places open that everyone can walk in and out of. Like Austin. Big poppa and i were originally supposed to be minions but after a week of hard work and not even being close to done and having a painting mishap, we quickly changed plans and went as zombies. It took us about an hour to get into character and we were off to montrose. It was chilly! Such great weather. We met up mochi and her peeps and none of them were dressed up. Boring! I have to say that it's not fun being the only people in costume. Luckily emdee and some phat came out to meet us up. They were zombies too which is where we got our idea to be zombies. So we were a gang of zombies. I had such a great time being in disguise. We ran around making zombie noises at everyone. There were some really creative costumes out there that night.

Trippin': Washington D.C. - Tidal Basin

For those of you who have read up on those cherry blossom trees in D.C., you know that the peak blooming period for these beautiful sakuras are not only hard to predict but also quite fleeting. And if you want to visit, well, unless you're a baller, it's not realistic to book a last minute trip to catch them in full bloom. I mentioned to a few people that i really wanted to go. I mean c'mon. Where do i not really want to go? So when miss flowerchild asked me to go, i pretty much couldn't say no. I wish people would stop asking me to go places cos it's so hard to say no! I have no concept of budgeting so things go awry pretty quickly for me when it comes to traveling. So what most people will do is plan there trip according to when the cherry blossom parade and japanese festival takes place. Unfortunately, with the luck i had this trip, it meant that i missed the trees in all it's glory by a week. A WEEK! Argh. There were some petals still hanging on for dear life here and there but for the most part, the ground was littered with the pink blossoms. The ground was also littered with throngs of asian people EVERYWHERE. SO MANY PEOPLE! I mean seriously. What economy? Miss flowerchild and i rented bikes to ride around and there was just no way to go through the crowd on the bike. I basically walked my bike for most of the way around the tidal basin. I felt like phoebe on friends when ross got a bike for her. Haha.
