A little bit country. A little bit rock. That's how I would describe this song in particular by Neko Case. I haven't bothered to check out her other stuff. Stuff that she has a LOT of. It seems as if she churns an album out at least once a year. Quantity therefore non-quality?

Merry X-mas everyone! It's all about family time these days. Big poppa and I enjoyed some homemade dimsum with his family for brunch. That was followed by a grilling session with my family. And then we had a late dinner with his family once more. Lots of food. Me likey! We're not a turkey and ham family so for the holidays, it's almost always Vietnamese and/or Chinese cuisine and that's perfectly A-OK with me! And also with big poppa of course. My mom marinates an assortment of meats and then everyone grills it for themselves on a skillet. The meat is then wrapped in rice paper along with a medley of veggies as well as some vermicelli and SHAMWOW you've got your very own personalized spring roll.

My family. My dad is a super old-fashioned Vietnamese man and also a lover of all things DUDE. As in the dudes from back then. Not your modern day anti-mister-fix-it dude. It's funny sometimes just sitting back and watching him being FORCED to bond with his three semi-Americanized daughters. I'm sure he wishes he had a son, as any father with all girls would want. But since he doesn't, he has to deal with us draping him in clothes my sister got for Christmas. Don't worry. He's not mad. That's just how he looks in all his pictures. He always looks grumpy and he never looks directly at the camera. Maybe he's part Amish. Ha!

My mama gives the dogs a lot of love. And Tino loves her and the attention she gives him.

Neo, the best gift of all!

My gift to big poppa. The new iPhone 3G. He's been wanting it for LONG time. And now all he wants to do is play with his iPhone. Sometimes, I feel like taking it away from him.

His gift to me? A munny that he painted of me. Haha! Gone are the days of me wanting designer pish posh. I'm ten years clean. I'm more into artfully creative things. And it means a lot to me that he spent MANY hours just brainstorming and painting the cute little munny. Most people have no idears what a munny is. So when people ask me what big poppa gave me for Christmas, I'll just say he gave me money. Which I guess makes even less sense cos who in the world gives their gf or bf MONEY!

Lastly, a big happy 4 years to me and big poppa! Here's to keeping the arguing at an average. Cheers!

Musik Mundi: Celine Dion

With Christmas just a few days away, I was feeling some old fashioned Christmas music. Celine Dion is one of my fave artists EVAR! Thanks to the wonderful big poppa, I had the pleasure of enjoying her Vegas A New Day concert. Magnifique! She is just frackin' AWESOME!

Trippin': Puerto Vallarta - World Cafe

Every morning, big poppa and I would have breakfast at the World Cafe restaurant during our short stay at Dreams Resort. Although I rarely eat American breakfast, for some reason, that's all I chose to eat every morning. There was a buffet with a large selection of internatioal cuisine and I decide to be palate-tably unadventurous. Boo to me. And now some more fretting action by me, regarding what else but my memory cards. What kind of pictures did it contain? A lot of kind that's what!

I had these wonderful pictures that I took of the beautiful white tigers while at the downtown aquarium. My friends and I indulged in some face painting, pictures with santa, arts and crafts and ate some yummy food. We got to play games for free and also ride the train. All. Gone. And then there was the Via Colori street art festival. UGH. The artwork was frackin AMAZING! All. Gone. I had pics of my day out with a good friend. We went to La Strada for brunch and had some coffee at Empire Cafe. All. Gone. There are also priceless pics of Tino and Stewie cuddling together as well as Stewie sitting right in front of our television. She's so cute. Please please please let my memory cards return to me.

I hope Stewie grows up to be nice and plump like this cat. It was so cute. This black cat wandered around the restaurant waiting for people to feed him/her. So cute!
