Musik Mundi: Air

With so many crappy shows on the free channels these days, it really makes me angry that they canned some of my favo shows like Veronica Mars. It was a show that big poppa and I enjoyed together. It was just so different from a lot of the shows on right now that basically has a new cast but with the same script. Veronica Mars (I love Kristen Bell) was one of the first shows where I found myself constantly wondering what song had just been played. There was always a handful songs that I went in search of after each episode. A group they featured was French duo, Air. Amour, Imagination, Reve. Translates to Love, Imagination, Dream.

Persona Grata: Billi con K.So

Billi had a temporary going away affair one night that his lovely wifey arranged for him. It started off at the Wet Spot for some Georges St-Pierre UFC fightin'. Big poppa was craving crawfish so bad that he decided to order some even though some people warned him that it might be frozen and not live. I think it did end up being live. And super spicy. I lived up to my classy reputation and brought out the banh mi that I didn't get a chance to eat from earlier. Good thing it was busy so the waitress could care less. After the fight, it was off to the new and improved Glitter that is now located in Midtown. It was a kinda slow night so my request for some Madonna was immediately played. I could have sung all night long, but my vocal chords were taking a beating cos I was screaming to be heard. And I got a nice buzz which just makes me want to talk even louder. What was supposed to be me and big poppa staying for just a bit turned into us schmoozing til closing time. Can't just walk away from a good time now can we? I think Billi con K.So and Antsymama called it a night before we did! Good Luck Billi and come back soon!

Shout out to my middle school bud who I ran into that night. I accused him of seeing us and not saying saying wassup. But he fired back saying he texted me. I was like. Oh. Yeah. You did. Okay then.

Gastron Om Nom: Thit Kho

I've attempted thit kho on many occassions but something was always wrong. Usually it was cos I didn't want to use pork. I would try to make it with chicken breast instead. Bad idea. Super dry every time. That's what I get for trying to watch the telly and cook at the same time. But I finally did it with pork. Didn't use the belly. I think I used either pork shoulder or butt. I bought extra meat and used the rest to make thit nuong later on in the week. The thit kho turned out okay. It wasn't as caramelizy as I wanted it to be.

Musik Mundi: Leona Lewis

Another song from the nothing less than amazing Leona Lewis's new album. She's just so awesome. I really need to preview the rest of the songs from that album. My go to songstress used to be Kelly Clarkson. Like if there was this beautiful song that was sung by singer that was blah, I would always say that the song would sound so much better if Kelly Clarkson had sung it. Now, it's Leona Lewis. Or Marie Digby.
