Event: Urban Harvest Farmers Market

Back in March, I took a day off in the middle of the week to spend some time with big poppa. Cos you know, we attached at the hip mang! I suggested that we go to the Urban Harvest Farmers Market that's held at the city hall in downtown every wednesdays. Stalls of vendors are lined around the reflecting pool in front of city hall. We took a moment to first take a peep at each stall to see what everyone was offering. It was quite overwhelming as I couldn't decide what I wanted and ended up spending more than I should have. We got coffee, macarons, grilled cheese sandwich, croissant, hoisin sauce, chocolate pudding, tamales, tortas and tacos. Man. That's a lot. Now foto overload time.

Placenter: Oh My Gogi

Food truck time! Most Saturday nights are spent at the cousins house watching some 'new' movie. And then it gets late. And I get hungry. And I always want to eat something but big poppa is tired and just wants to go home and sleep. But this night he gave in to my wanting to try Oh My Gogi since they make camp next to brian o'neill's and home is nearby. We ordered some tacos and the gogi fries that were smothered with spicy pork and their special spicy sauce. So i guess anything that is mixed with mayo is then deemed special? The fries were super greasy because of the combination. I ended up mostly eating the spicy pork. The tacos were good. Maybe a bit too spicy with the jalapenos. I'm weak sauce! I'm also not a fan of corn tortillas. The tacos were still pretty tasty overall. I want some now. No. I want some spicy pork. I'm thinking I might be getting some yori yori for dinner tomorrow night.

That's right! Another Jes Hudak song! This one is big poppa's favorite and i really like it too. On Platinum Hit however, the judges (Jewel, Kara Dioguardi) trashed her song. Okay that's harsh. But they didn't like it enough to put her on the BOTTOM. Say what? I wasn't in town to watch this episode but big poppa said there was no way the other songs were better. What peeves me about this show is that these 'experts' are really going by the lyrics. It's always about the melody for me. It's what catches and captivates you to a song. Who cares what the song is about! I'm really bad a remembering the lyrics to a song cos most of the time, it's just white noise to me. I'm listening to the music. The melody. The instrumentals. And I always go find piano music or guitar tabs for the songs I like but never get around to pounding it out. Ugh. Stupid judges. Jewel has mos def lost some credibility in my book. I guess I shouldn't be so rash cos I'm sure there are other people out there who may have actually liked the other songs.
