Part deux of gilles drunken celebration. Let's see. I know gilles emptied the contents of her stomach. I want to say big poppa did too but i can't remember. He was pretty wasted for sure. I was just a little drunk. Super buzzed? There was a time when i had to finally accept the fact that what i thought was being buzzed was actually me being drunk. Omgoodness everyone was ordering way too many drinks. This is what happens when you go out with super generous and successful people. There are so many full drinks on the table that no one can keep up. Thank the lord i've rid myself of the selfish type who only buys drinks for themselves. I can't stand that! There's something about this group of people who bring out the best in me. I'm more fun and outgoing. And sometimes i'm so chatty and so obnoxiously loud that even i'm telling myself to STFU! You just can't help but be happy and positive. Fresh from my trip to paris, i made everyone give me bisous as we parted ways. You know, kisses on both cheeks. In spanish it's besos. I love it! Why can't that be a part of our everyday culture? It's so chic and mature. Some of us ended up at tantan for a post-party fuel-up. Of course it was the skinniest person in the group who held her liquor the best and was the only one that could drive. I needed to eat and sober up a little before i could drive home. Big poppa and i never really discussed who was gonna be the designated driver and so we were both drinking it up. By the time that thought occurred to me big poppa was already way ahead so i got pinned with the DD role. The next morning, big poppa was in hangover mode and asking if we had gone to tantan. I sarcastically asked him whose birthday was it again? It was gilles birthday and i was supposed to be the one who got sloshed. He stole my drunk from me! Anyway, gilles has become such a great friend. I've already told her this but i think she is a really great conversationist. The way she really listens to what you're saying and the ability to always give meaningful input. One of the things she does best is to always include others around her. I've been around some people who talk as if you're not right next to them. It's quite annoying and even rude at times. So if she's talking with one person, she'll take the time to explain to whoever might also be listening what they're talking about. It's a very considerate and thoughful gesture and it's also something that i always try to do. I hope gilles had a really good 30th bday. I think she did!

Holiday: Halloween 2012
This year, big poppa and i spent halloween back on the montrose crawl. I'm not sure if it's really worth it. Got lucky and found some quick neighborhood parking. This is becoming a big problem and making it hard for us to even want to come out into this area. And i love this area! There's not enough bars/clubs to accommodate the number of people that come out. Some lines were ridiculously long and once you get in, there's not enough room to move around. At both etro and boondocks, it was so hellish hot inside. I couldn't breathe! Big poppa and i decided to go as those fish market guys from seattle's pike place fish market. What did we do to not be confused as regular fish people? NOTHING. Haha. So for the most part, everyone would yell out DEADLIEST CATCH at us. Is that show that popular? We bought this gigantic stuffed fish online and threw it back and forth. That fish was a hit. And was the key to talking to girls. That's wut i was told anyhow. I can't say i had a great time. I wasn't feeling 100% and so i was little tired and not in the mood to act crazy and stay in character. I didn't speak in a deep grizzly gruff voice. Big poppa was a little buzzed so i basically let him have his fun as i followed him from bar to bar to club. The duty of a good gf. Don't be a buzz kill. Haha. I wish i had a big house so i could THROW some awesome halloween parties! Anyway. Fave costume this year were the guys dressed as those door-to-door mormons. So funny and so wrong. As i was walking along westheimer, a girl grabs my arm and this is our exchange:
girl: girl you look hot!
me: aw man! i'm not supposed to look like a girl!
girl: oh you can't hide that
me: (laugh and continue walking)
And then i stopped laughing. What just happened? What did that MEAN?!? Haha. Well, i guess we ARE in montrose! Our last treat of the night was pizza from pi pizza truck. I've been wanting to try this pizza for the longest time but i just never want to go where this truck is at. It was so DELISH! Nice and thin with a good crisp crust. Big poppa had a nice big slice for himself and then helped himself to mine as he held it for me as i drove home.
Happy halloweeniw from the boo crew!

Musik Mundi: Pink
Pink
Album: The Truth About Love
Song: Try
I'm so loving this song! I play it at least three times a day. This is a shout at the top of your lungs in the car song. I'm thinking i need to tint my windows so people will stop staring. I keep imagining that one day while stuck in traffic on main st, i'll start singing with the windows down. And then one by one people from neighboring cars join me. And by mid-song, everyone's dancing and singing on the street and on top of cars. I'm not into musicals unless i'm starring in one. The music video for her song is pretty cool. She does this so you think you can dance contemporary number that shows how super strong she is. She's got a crazy man body.
I feel like time is in a rush. Before i know it i'm another year older and not much wiser. I've got a great man in my life yet i just don't feel the fire of getting married or having kids. I like kids but sometimes i wonder, do i REALLY like kids? I dunno. What i would like is a house but the thought of diving into such a huge financial commitment with the mortgage and furnishing it. Oy! It's a lot of chitty chitty bang bang mang! Big poppa and i had some free time on sunday so we drove around this one area looking at houses. Let's just say we were a bit out of our price range and everyone in that neighborhood will be voting for romney.
sweet big poppa:
'if i could sing, this is the song i would want to sing to u at our wedding' - referring to neyo's new song let me love you
sour big poppa:
'i think it would be fun to be single' - this got ooooohhhh's all around

Restaurant: Triniti
2815 South Shepherd
Houston, Texas 77098
OMGoodness. I know there are a lot of crappy things that are happening in this world and we need to learn how to keep the small things in perspective. But i can't help but be all superficial and wallow in a funk about the fact that i wasn't thinking clearly. AGAIN! And i ended up buying these shoes on ebay. I'm constantly two thousand and late so there are always things i stumble on that are at least a year old and therefore not avail anymore. So then my only options are to find them on ebay. So i found these shoes that i really really like and before you know it, I made an offer and it was accepted and the shoes arrive and they don't FIT. No returns. I normally would try to return them anyway but i'm just so tired and don't want to go through the hassle. Maybe i'll craiglist them. I dunno. They are so freaking cute but they're too SMALL! My feet are whack. I can wear anything from 6.5 to 8. Pretty crazy range right? Why oh why didn't go with at least 7.5?!? I honestly think my feet are growing. Or maybe it's my big ole toe that keeps on growing. I could try to just squish my feet and take the pain. But it's pretty painful and with all the feet problems i've been having, I'd better not make them worse. Seriously. I hope i can get these off my hands! I'd be happy to sell them to you! I'm not even used to paying this much for shoes! Don't worry i didn't pay retail.
Enough of my venting and on to happier times. For gilles' 30th bday, her husband treated a big group of her people to dinner at Triniti. It was such a nice and classy night. I wore my new chanel purse and gilles was wearing her new chanel sandals, her bday gift from the hubs. And mascara had on some really cute shoes too! But i had some sense of practicality that night cos i told myself her heels were just too high for me. I'm not sure wuts going on with me and shoes lately. The restaurant is simply decorated. Very minimalistic. No carpet or thick curtains which meant sore throats and hoarse voices by the end of the night. It was hard to speak normally. I know i was yelling across the table. Food was good but sparse. I'm not really feeling the new trend when it comes to this new plating style. It's like abstract art. I prefer my food to sit in front of me in an organized fashion. It was a bit on the expensive side and you sure don't get a lot food for the money you pay. Or rather, jacques paid. Yay free meal! Haha. At one point, Helen had this look of dismay on her face as the server set this bowl with a couple of small chunks of protein in it. We were all like, THAT'S IT?!? But ten seconds later another server came by and poured soup into her bowl. WHY SO FANCY?!? Haha. It was a really nice meal. Just not enough of it. After dinner, we had way too many drinks at St. Genevieve. Pics to come in another post. Big poppa kept saying he was hungry the entire night.
