Holiday: NYE 2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I thought that since i hadn't blogged my nye festivities from LAST year that i would take the time to go through allll of the photos ... select the ones i like and do some quick crop/edits on them so that i can share them now. I seriously can't believe the drunken shenanigans we had was LAST YEAR. Time just flew by in the blink of an eye. For nye 2011, our quaint little group decided we would do this mystery dinner thing at the double tree hotel in downtown. To make sure that we made the most of it we also booked rooms at the double tree. Drink and not have to worry about driving equals the way to go. The mystery dinner was a joke but drunken fun with friends was the best time EVAR! Since this happened so long ago ... i'll do my best to remember the deets. Here goes:

- I was pretty hammered even before we left our room to go downstairs to that lame mystery dinner thing. I have no idea how many drinks and shots i had. But right when i sat down, i tried to excuse myself to go back to the room so i could throw-up. But, mascara put a death grip on my arm and made me vomit in the super public restroom so that my fellow mystery dinner attendees could hear. I threw up. Yay! Haha.

- I struck a conversation with this girl who was wearing a dress that i also owned. I told her she looked a lot better in it than i did. Damn. I would be such a suave and smooth talking lesbian with all the right lines. She said she was a blogger. OMG so am I! So i drunkenly showered her with extreme positive praises for about ten minutes.

- I might have been drawing a lot of attention to myself because i soon found myself talking to the emcee/lead detective on the mystery case of the night. She took my name down. I already knew to expect her to call me name out sometime during dinner. To embarrass me maybe? HAH! Jokes on her. I can't be embarrassed cos i love to put on a good show!

- I'm not sure what we ate for dinner but i can tell you that we all thought the food was crap. UGH. Nasty. They should have asked me to cook for everyone and i think it would have been better received.

- As suspected, the detective lady called my name up. I can't remember why. We may have been 'witnesses' of some sort. She mentioned something about us being at a strip club. So i nodded in agreement and then let LOOSE! I started dancing. SOme guy came up and i tore his jacket off and i flung it into the crowd of diners. Then when we were supposed to go back to our seats i grabbed the emcee's mike and yelled out that we needed more DRINK COUPONS! I can be such a wild lady sometimes. At least no one can ever say i'm a boring drunk!

- As we continued through dinner, i sat there thinking about the whole mystery thing. The 'murderer' was supposedly sitting amongst us. So in my drunken state, i thought to myself, the 'murderer' is prolly some actor who is sitting alone and not with friends or a date. And then it occurred to me, the blogger girl i met before! She came here alone and told me that she was here getting material for her blog! Wut a load of B.S. Who in the world spends nye alone going to some weird mystery dinner event so she can blog about it. SOUNDS SUSPICIOUS TO ME! And then i started getting a little angry cos i had just been LIED to by her. No harm no foul. Girl's just doing her job. Oh my how the drunken mind works.

- So blogger girl turned out to be the murdered. But i didn't win because we were supposed to write all this crap down and none of us had been paying any attention to wut was going on.

- I remember some of the other guests at the table telling me that they had suspected me of being the murderer. I think mostly because of my drunken antics. Haha. But then when they saw me give big poppa a kiss they figured that was a bit much for 'acting' the part so i was ruled out as a suspect.

- And then we danced the night away. I was sweating SO MUCH. And i was having a freaking blast. Thankfully voodoo stopped by with his girl and lent me his shoes for a bit since my feet were in pain from heels. I still don't know how girls walk in heels all the time. It HURTS! And voodoo took over as photographer so i could have me some fun!

- After the dinner and dance party was over, we went back to the room for a couple more shots and drinks. I'm pretty sure i didn't have any. We did however decide that we were super hungry and big poppa and transam took a cab to mai's to get us some pho. It took two hours for mai's to have the pho ready. By the time the guys came back with the pho the broth wasn't hot enough to cook the raw beef. Some genius decided to boil the pho broth in the coffee maker. Oy vay. Terrible. Haha. I got pho ga so i was all good.

- All in all, we had such a bad arse time. Can't u tell by the fotos!

Musik Mundi: Phantogram

Phantogram
Album: Eyelid Movies (2010)
Song: When I'm Small

I've actually added a handful of songs on the playlist. So here it is again. The end of another year. I can't say if this year has been good or bad. I've got more than most people so i will be grateful and say that i am lucky to have what i have. Spent most of the holiday removing stanky and dirty carpet and replacing it with some fake wood laminate. Big poppa and i did most of it ourselves. I had to send some curse word filled texts to the little sistars because they completely ignored my request for them to help clear out the living room. Why do they make me the bad guy? Seriously. Anyway. The other day i found myself reflecting back on the person that i am today. I think most people in my inner circle would say that i'm an extrovert. But that's only true when i'm with people who i enjoy being around. The true definition of an extrovert is a person who is energized by being around other people and that is clearly not the case all the time. There have been many scenarios where i've been in a group setting and not a peep i made. I think some people prolly even thought i was SHY! And hands down that is not the least bit true. I've been around certain people who just suck the life out of me and there's not one thought that i can think of to share with them. I become this silent blob just sitting there with nothing to offer. Nothing. The definition of an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone. I'm totally a little bit of that too! I'm perfectly fine doing things on my own without having someone accompany me. I guess i'm just normal? Since big poppa and i have such busy weeks that when the weekends roll around, i just want to stay home and do nothing. Or maybe housework, crafting, or even some art project. I've gotten so bad at reaching out to people to set up social time. I could prolly work on being more proactive at that especially since i'm not really the phone chatting keep in touch type. I know that i've become a lot better at not completely shutting people out who i think have disappointed me. I don't want to be someone that play games or make calculated moves. So i don't do it. And i don't believe in tit for tat. An eye for eye makes the whole world blind. I just do what i need to do to keep the peace. How much i have grown! It's not hard to know who values your frendship so i hope that my bond with these great people become even stronger and hope that the ones with wrinkles somehow irons itself out. So was that all just comepletely random or what?!?

Big poppa and i have now been together for eight whole years! Our anniversary just sorta flashed by. We don't normally celebrate it anyway since it's christmas day. It was so hectic trying to finish up the floors, move all the furniture back and then prepare food for the family. All in a span of three days. Body was so soooore. Big poppa and i have the utmost respect for each other. I love that we're both such happy people even after all these years together. And i feel that our relationship has been as great as it has because we both didn't have to compromise much to make it work. I love him more than anything in this world! Even more than korean fried chicken!

Trippin': Sydney - Temasek

The Roxy Arcade
71 George St
Parramatta NSW 2150

The best meal i had during the entire oceania trip was when my mom's cousin took us out to some malaysian food at this restaurant called TEMASEK. OH MY GOODNESS it was like super duper delcious asian food. I would go back there again. So i THINK the restaurant we went to is called TEMASEK. All i remembered was that it was on george street, in paramatta and by this place called roxy. So after some googling, this was the best answer. Memory not so bad after all! Then again, i can't really remember everything i got either. Mee goreng. That was the highlight. Everything else was good and you can just look at the pictures to see what we had. Meeting the family was interesting. The adults were all really nice and fun. There were three sets of siblings. One set was these two brothers who were really smart, good and humble kids. Prolly nerdy. I dunno. Then there were these two sisters who were prolly a little spoiled and thought they were better than their cousins. Then there was the brother/sister school's for fools combo who cared more about going out and partying. All so different. Nice to meet you too familia. I'm hungry. Might have to go to banana lead this weekend.
