Birthday: Big Poppa

This weekend, big poppa turned 33! I have learned not to make 'old' comments/jokes because more than half of our friends are older than us. I hosted a nice little cocktail and hors d'oeuvres/canapes party at the tasting room at city centre. They gave us this nice room in the back that was basically outdoors. I was expecting it to be cold but by chance it ended up rainy and HUMID. Argh. So mad that it was so hot! I was sweating like crazy. And then there was this problem with their sound system. It wasn't perfect but i think in the end everything turned out pretty great. Buda told me this was his first ever classy adult bday party. I ordered these HUGE balloons that everyone really liked. The balloons were less than two bucks each but it cost me $4.00 per balloon to fill them with helium. I was also expecting them to be more spherical instead of the typical oblong shape but it didn't matter all that much they looked awesome purely by the size. I remember cracking up when i saw big poppa walk out of randall's with the balloons. I guess i just didn't imagine them being as big as they were. We had to put the seats down in order for them to fit. So no using rear view mirror! By the end of the night big poppa was pretty drunk. He knocked out on the car ride home. Not so classy. I wish there were less posed fotos but there's just so much i can do! I can't thank my friends enough for helping me set up and pack up. And poo poo to those people who no showed. Gee, that's not inconsiderate at all.

So hypster is whack. It keeps goofing everything up. Their site just got revamped and i don't know how to navigate through it. The songs on my playlist sorta got scrambled and i don't know how to reorganize them so i'll just have to post my musik mundi in similar fashion.

Flu season is in full swing. This year was the first time i got my flu shot. Something in me told me to do it. So i did. And maybe it's a good thing because i ended up sorta getting sick. I can't tell if it was supposed to be the flu but the vaccine in me muffled most of it or if i just got some weird small cold. I've had this phlegmy cough for a whole WEEK. No other symptoms. Just cough cough cough. At least it was the painful dry cough. My body was trying to expel the nasty stuff within. It's finally mostly gone. I still have a litte cough cough here and a cough cough there. This seems to be pretty common because almost every other person that i know is also going through the same thing. My dad got the flu. Makes me sad whenever my parents aren't feeling well. I start thinking about their aging process and sometimes i tear up.

To end it on a first world problems note, i wanted this zara jacket and right when i decided to jump on it, my size runs out.

Babyshower - Ludivine

I love being the hostess with the mostess. Creatively, i'm not always on, but when i am, i get this wonderful high. And that high can get expensive and lead to slight paralysis in my fingers from excessive glue gun use. I've been very lucky to have met some great people at work. A lot of them have moved on to bigger and better things and so i don't get to see them as much. I know that i love these ladies cos i don't hem and haw about meeting up with them or attending one of their events. It's like, YES I'M DOWN! Come to think of it, i might always be the first person to reply like all the time. Haha. EAGER BEAVER! When an a former co-worker told me about her pregnancy, i was so happy for her! Like many of my friends right now, she had a few hiccups along the way. It's sad and scary how difficult it can be at our age. For my french friend's babyshower, i helped co-host the event along with three of her other friends. I would say we made a pretty good team with all four people really contributing. Communism works when everyone pulls their weight! Aside from bringing food, I put a game together (oven mitts and nesting boxes) and made her message board in the shape of an 'L'. I used the first letter of her name since she didn't have a name picked out for her bebe yet. My message board turned out pretty good! I used a foam board as the base and bought all the fabric and materials at hobby lobby. I also made these tea bag shaped sugar cookies dipped in pink candy coating. Those took FOREVER! Thanks to big poppa for helping me. I was actually recovering from a bout of food poisoning when i had to prepare everything. I don't like not following through with things like this so i made myself trudge on. So tiring! The babyshower had a parisienne brunch theme. Very fitting considering that is her heritage. I brought my little instax mini and took fotos of all her guests. All the instant pics went right onto her new message board. The co-hosts had the cutest kids! One of them made the most delicious french toast casserole. I'm gonna find a recipe and put that on my need to make list.
