Musik Mundi: A Fine Frenzy

Real name? Alison Sudol. Who taught herself how to play the piano. I got my bloody fingers on A Fine Frenzy's new album and did a quick run through on it. I already know that I like her previous album a lot better. But I haven't really listened to all of the songs so you get to preview them with me. Big poppa was just telling me today, which is really Friday cos I'm doing some catch-up, back-blogging, that he liked my hair when it was dyed red. Will I dye it red again? Prolly not. Oh, haha. You can't tell from the album foto but her hair is usually this fiery red color. I want some pizza.

Trippin': New York City - Billy's Bakery

We got a rec to try out Billy's Bakery when we were in NYC so we went there to not only indulge in some sweets, but to also give our feet a little break. It had been another long day of lots of walking. The cupcakes were a bit dense. You could tell just by holding it cos it was pretty heavy. We had a vanilla cupcake with vanilla icing and a red velvet cupcake. The red velvet didn't have the typical delish cream cheese icing, instead, it tasted like regular vanilla icing. Boo! We also had a oreo cake which wasn't bad. To be honest, I can't remember what it tasted like. I really liked the bakery itself though. Very cute and quaint. We spent about an hour there just chilling out cos we were pooped. The folks behind the counter were super cool and didn't mind.

Daily Shots: Dunny Card

Big poppa and I were leaving on separate trips and when I dropped him off at the airport, he surprised me with a card he made in the shape of a dunny. The dunny was even wearing the same t-shirt design that I had worn to work that day. It was cute and I loved it! Not to sap this story even more or anything, but he even bought a rose and attached it to the dunny's hand. I'm not a fan of roses but I really liked that one. I love my big poppa. Now you may barf.

Trippin': New York City - Times Square

When I do get the chance to go back to NYC, I think I would like to spend more time getting to know Times Square a bit better. It was our last stop on our first night and I just had nothing left in me. Although quite impressive with the many jumbo screens illuminating the area, I took whatever fotos I could and simply just gave up. After following Voodoo into a shoe store and promptly sitting down at the nearest vacant bench, I was like, okay dokay, TKO. And dood, it was like past 1am and that shoe store was still open! Not sure what was going on. But yeah. We soon called it a night and my busy itinerary did not allow for us to go back during the daytime to wander around. There's no such thing as wandering or meandering around when I travel. My itinerary is iron clad.
