Restaurant: Komart

Komart (a word mash-up of Korean Mart) isn't exactly a restaurant, but when you enter and heads toward the left side of the grocery store, you'll find yourself four eateries to choose from. There's Japanese Kitchen and Noodle Deli, Mom's Hand, Soondae House and the fourth stall is owned by the Komart grocery store. I don't have a very adventurous palate so I ordered the chicken katsu. The other folks I was with ordered more interesting items such as the bulgogi, unagi on rice and noodles mixed with some sort of bean sauce. We also shared some fried dumplings that the others enjoyed more than I did. Most of the dishes range from $5-$8 and the portions are pretty big. Overall, the place was good and everyone really liked what they had but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go there unless I'm in the neighborhood.

Andy and Isela graciously hosted game night where we all enjoyed football, spring rolls, margaritas, an RC car and Apples to Apples! Apples to Apples is a game that I received as a Secret Santa gift exchange from work. I was a bit wary on how exciting the game was going to be when I first started reading the rules. But as the game started rolling, it was actually really fun and I literally felt as if I was about to lose my voice from all the shouting and yelling as I tried to sway the judge in my favor. There was one instance where we were all cracking up with ridiculous laughter. I have to say that I haven't laughed like that in a LONG time. It was the kind of laugh where your stomach starts hurting and your whole body is seizing.

John Milkovisch drank a six-pack a day and from that came a whimsical creation where almost the entire outside of his home was decorated using his empty beer cans. This is one of those hidden unique places Houston has to offer but relatively unknown to the people living here. John and his wife Mary have both passed away but The Orange Show has stepped in to preserve what is left of the house. It is currenty not open to visitors but I was lucky to come on a day when a rep for the Orange Show was there doing assessments on the house, so she let us in to take a look. The Beer Can House will re-open for visitors sometime in the Spring or Summer once renovations are completed.

Event: Texans vs Jaguars

The bf managed to score some tickets to the Texans very last game. The is the second Texans game that I've gone to and they won both of those games! We sorta got the tickets at the last minute and didn't have time to eat, which meant having to buy over-priced concession food. The bf and I shared some chicken tenders that were $8.50. We also ordered a bottle of water but the lady at the counter was in good holiday spirits and didn't charge us for it. Yay! We saved $3.25! The seats were pretty good; we were literally right under the box seats. It was a great game with many many touchdowns and we all had a great time.
