My favorite song on the Eclipse soundtrack is Ours by The Bravery. I've been listening to a lot of sloooww songs and it's refreshing to get some upbeat stuff back into rotation. Even with a good sountrack, i still can't bring myself to watch the movie. This weekend, i did absolutely nothing but eat. I grabbed some to-go from the newly opened torchy's tacos. It's freaking good! Trailer park. Brushfire. Do it. The line was 20-30 people deep but i called in my order and got to go straight to the front of the line. Parking was also a mess but i'm pretty good at parking illegally. Yayers to the texans! I was bouncing up and down in my seat going crazy watching those last few minutes of the game. So cray cray!

Trippin': Washington D.C. - Againn

Againn was my least favorite place that i ate while in D.C.. This place was so blah to me that i've been very uninspired to write about it. Pronounced ah-gwen, it's name is gaelic and translates to 'with us'. We met up with one of flower child's friends here for dinner. It's a gastropub that serves contemporary pub fare. The menu here makes me realize that i am not a foodie, just some chubby girl who likes to eat a lot of what she likes to eat. I ended up with some sausage and potatoes. And because i was missing big poppa, i ordered me a guiness which i enjoyed more than the food.

Oh Really?: Monkey Testing

OMGawd this is just so HORRIBLE! I stumbled upon this article about a Seattle area lab (Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories) with big roots in Japan that has been exposed with cruelty to the animals they use for testing purposes. It's a animal testing facility so how else are these animals being treated. It just saddens me so much that I have contributed to this practice. An hour ago, i was near tears while reading the article. I don't want to get into a long diatribe about this but i do want to encourage you to read the article, maybe sign a few petitions and also take a look at the two links at the bottom. These links are lists that comprise of products/companies that do and don't perform animal testing. Big companies pay big money to labs like the SNBL to conduct toxicity animal testing for agrochemicals, petrochemicals, household products, pharmaceuticals and toxins. The article goes into more detail about how these animal, MONKEYS are caged and forced fed chemicals. I'm so disappointed in myself. There are quite a few products that i use that are on the red list so i'm gonna need to go through it and find suitable substitutes from the good list. Baby steps right? The good list also has a list of dog food that doesn't involve CAGING dogs and testing them and cutting up pieces of them for testing. Ugh. We just need to all take a step in the right direction. And ladies, MAC and urban decay are on the good list. Yay! L'oreal is on the red list. Ugh. I need to go get a new tube of mascara.

I haven't seen Eclipse yet but I know that whoever is in charge of selecting music for the saga always introduces me to a few new songs that i like. Such as My Love by Sia. I'm already a fan of a few of her songs so when i saw her name i was like gotta listen. And i like. The first five songs on the soundtrack were by Metric, Muse, The Bravery, Florence & The Machine and Sia. How awesome is that! Since I'm late posting this musik mundi post anyways, i'll briefly touch on the Jay-Z and Kanye concert that i went to last night. If i had any doubts on whether or not i liked hip hop music, well, i can now say that it is most certainly not my type of music. I'm not even sure why i went. I guess it's one of those ur bf supports ur interests so in return u support his.
