Oh Really?: Silly String

I'm not sure if I'm the only person that didn't know about this, but now I DO! The other day, a co-worker informed me about how our servicemen and women overseas have certain items that they need but aren't provided with. The norm being toothpaste, soap and other hygiene related things. One thing that I found interesting is that they also request SILLY STRING. There were several articles published awhile ago about how troops use silly string to detect any tripwires that may be in a room before they enter. Talk about masters of improvisation. Since the story aired, many people have shipped silly string over to the American troops. The only setback is that silly string is in aerosol cans and therefore will cost more to ship.
