If you have questions or need more info on camera/video related items, a great place to stop by would be Houston Camera Exchange. Many of the employees there are such camera nerds that they'll own at least TWO of the latest and greatest cameras presently available in the market. They'll give you their honest opinions on equipment that you are thinking about purchasing and they'll even go as far as commenting on the items that you already own! Found out that the guy there was not a fan of my camera. Whoops! It's filled with wall to wall things that I could roam around and get lost for days. My experience at other places such as Wolf Camera wasn't particularly stellar. The people there were very nice yet even a novice as myself could tell that their knowledge of cameras and related accessories weren't mind blowing. I can't say much about the price though. When it comes to having a camera, everything is expensive.
If anyone is looking for a super point-and-shoot digi cam, you should look into getting the Fujifilm FinePix F40 fd. It's got a lot of capability and neat options packed into a tiny camera. The picture quality is good, especially the natural lighting that is often times compromised in low light conditions. HCE is having a special for this camera: $250 with a $50 rebate.
